Bispecific antibodies can sometimes affect a part of your immune system responsible for producing proteins called immunoglobulins, also known as antibodies.

When these levels drop too low, a condition called hypogammaglobulinemia can develop. This makes it harder for your body to fight infections. 

Infections are a common risk while taking bispecific therapy, although bispecific antibody therapies targeting BCMA are more likely to result in serious infections. Bispecific therapies with other targets still need to be evaluated for infection risk.
