Every single person who gets myeloma first has a precursor condition, and according to Dr. Bob Kyle of the Mayo clinic, who first discovered MGUS, every myeloma patient had MGUS at one point or another. Understanding the precursor conditions that come before the development of full-blown myeloma could help us prevent or cure the disease.
