We are delighted to host the 4th Annual Muscles for Myeloma 5K and 1 Mile Walk in Columbus, Ohio on May 30, 2020. The race was established by the Move MMORE Legacy over 10 years ago and was turned over to the Myeloma Crowd in 2017. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue a race and tradition that has greatly impacted the myeloma community in Columbus. In 2019, we raised over $50,000 for myeloma research with 750 race participants. We are excited for another exciting year building "muscles for myeloma!"
Fitness matters to everyone, but it is especially important for myeloma patients. The more fit patients are, the more they are able to tolerate therapies which leads to better, longer lasting outcomes. Every year we invite patients, family, friends, and anyone that would like to participate in the race. What better way to exercise than surrounded by those that support and love you?
Half of the race proceeds are donated to support myeloma research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) and the other half of race proceeds are donated to the Myeloma Crowd Research Initiative.

The Myeloma Crowd is a patient-driven organization, providing education and advocacy for myeloma patients. Myeloma patient Jenny Ahlstrom started the Myeloma Crowd in 2013 with the goal of filling gaps in information, tools, resources and funding. The Myeloma Crowd funds research through our Myeloma Crowd Research Initiative. Our process to identify the best research, especially for high-risk patients, led us to two important immunotherapy projects. To learn more about where the research funding goes and our process to determine which projects to fund, click here. We are 100% aligned in our goal of funding potentially curative research in myeloma.
