We are thrilled to introduce our very own fitness challenge phone app called HealthTree Moves for multiple myeloma patients!
In the past, we used an app called MoveSpring to run our March and September Fitness Challenges, but in response to your requests and feedback, we developed our own HealthTree Moves app to open the Challenge up to an unlimited number of users with continuous fitness tracking year-round.
HealthTree Moves is available on Apple and Android phones and links to your Apple watch or Fitbit for automated tracking of your activity. Additional smart devices will be added in the future and additional features will be available over time.
HealthTree is a patient-centric foundation. That means that each program, research project, survey, event and fundraiser is created for our patients. Our goal is to improve the outcome of treatments, improve quality of life, find a cure and build a community as we do that. As a united multiple myeloma community, we can collectively improve myeloma care.
As the HealthTree Foundation Fitness Director, I've spent the last two years working on the Muscles for Myeloma programs. Each event I have been part of has blown my mind. The shared stories, inspiring participants and connections made are real and profound, with patients and caregivers participating from all over the world. It has been my sheer pleasure to help design and develop the new HealthTree Moves app for YOU.
We learned from past years that tracking minutes exercised is the best option for the HealthTree Moves for Myeloma 30-Day Challenge because it allows all patients to join. Regardless of the activity you choose (biking, running, swimming, cleaning, yoga, etc) or your fitness status, you can participate in the Challenge. Each challenge we run in March and September has been bigger than the last.
We hope that the development of the HealthTree Moves app shows our commitment to listening and incorporating your feedback. The HealthTree Moves app will now be open for continued tracking so you can maintain your fitness streak, ongoing chatting with others, and allows an unlimited number of patients per Challenge.
This is the HealthTree Foundation's ninth software tool built just for you. For me this has been an absolutely amazing experience, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together with this new app. Fitness, health and wellness are my passion. I am driven in what I do to share that with others to improve their quality of life, now let’s get moving together!
