
It's always important to listen to your body. But during chemo, it's really important to listen to your body, including what it wants to eat. Of course, select healthy options. But if something you once loved sounds or tastes awful to you, don't eat it. Likewise, if you're craving something, indulge. One myeloma survivor shared that she craved pickles and would eat almost a jar a day. Apples made her gag. The point is, eat what feels good to you. Typically, broth based soups, mashed potatoes, and bananas are easy on the stomach so if you're having a challenge eating anything, try those. Of course, discuss with your physician in case you're on a strict diet. Chemo doesn't last forever so be patient. Soon you'll be enjoying the foods you used to like again.
