The ABC's of Giving to AML Research
This is the time of year that many people are reviewing their gifting strategies and tax returns to get the most bang for their money, and benefit from the fruits of their gift. Organizations like HealthTree are doing the same.
The goal to CURE acute myeloid leukemia and to focus on blood cancers has been and is the driving force and foundational goal of Healthtree.
When you give this year, please take into account the benefits you can realize on your taxes as a result of your donation.
Benefits of Donating to AML Research
- You can lower your reportable taxable income through a charitable contribution. If you have taken any gains this year in your investment accounts, here is a way to offset some of those gains. You have until December 31st to make your contribution
- In order to claim your deduction, you will need to itemize your taxes
- The amount of charitable donations you deduct ranges from 20% to 60% of your Adjusted Gross Income
- The deduction limit applies to all contributions you make throughout the year
- If you exceed contribution limits, you can carry over the deductions to your tax return over the next 5 years
- For very large donations, the tax deduction can be huge
Rules to Keep Track of Your AML Donations
- Document your charitable donations. If you made a cash donation, you may receive a receipt from the organization, or keep bank or credit card statements
- Cash over $250 will require a written letter of acknowledgment from the charity, before tax filing
Other Huge Benefits of Donating to HealthTree
- You’ll be helping perhaps yourself and others
- You’ll feel good about supporting such a great cause
- You’ll become more informed about HealthTree and its impact on the community
- You’ll promote your passion for helping find a cure for blood cancers
- You’ll encourage others to do the same. Reach out to family and friends and share the benefits of making a charitable tax-deductible contribution
- If you’re a patient or a care partner who has benefitted from our programs, let your loved ones know how HealthTree has impacted you
- You’ll help stabilize and expand the vital programs that HealthTree brings to patients and doctors
- Every little bit counts!
Every dollar you give will help HealthTree reach its goal of Curing Blood Cancer. The research and new treatments for AML are making a cure so much closer than even a few years ago. Wouldn’t you want to be a part of that?
