Event Description

The Southern California Myeloma Community Chapter welcomes Rebekah Tobin, RN, BSN, Patient Advocacy Liaison for Multiple Myeloma with Takeda Oncology. She will share a comprehensive review of support programs, services, and resources from multiple organizations related to treatment and financial/legal services. This will be an engaging, interactive conversation that includes real-world experiences. Considering the breadth of support available, we expect that everyone will learn something new! You don’t want to miss this session.

Todd Kennedy

Todd Kennedy is a Myeloma Coach and grateful patient. His background includes over 30 years working in the pharmaceutical industry until he and his wife Diane retired from their respective first careers to devote their time and talents as patient advocates, Myeloma Crowd coaches, and ambassadors for City of Hope’s expansion to Orange County. Todd is living life to the fullest with his wife and sons in Orange County, CA.

Diane Kennedy

Diane has been an active and engaged care partner with Todd, her husband, since he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2017. In January 2020 they retired to devote their time and talents as patient advocates, HealthTree coaches, and grateful patient speakers/ambassadors for City of Hope. They are committed to helping improve and advance cancer care for all patients and feel a collaborative, virtual support group is an excellent way to help educate and empower patients and their families. Diane and Todd have lived in Orange County for over 25 years where they raised their two sons.

Audrey Burton-Bethke

Audrey joined the HealthTree Foundation as the Myeloma Community Program Director in 2020. While not knowing much about myeloma at the start, she has since worked hard to educate herself, empathize and learn from others' experiences. She loves this job. Audrey is passionate about serving others, loves learning, and enjoys a nice mug of hot chocolate no matter the weather.

The panelist Rebekah Tobin, RN, BSN
Rebekah Tobin, RN, BSN

Rebekah is an Oncology Registered Nurse and has more than 10 years of experience in cancer care. She specializes in working to enhance patients’ overall well-being, this work included helping educate patients about what to expect during treatment and managing infusion care, symptoms, and side effects. In recent years, Rebekah has focused on medical education about the evolving management of certain cancers, and on serving as a resource for other healthcare professionals. She is dedicated to educating patients and their loved ones so they can become their own best advocates. care coordination, and care of patients following heart, lung, and blood vessel surgery. Rebekah is driven by her curiosity and a yearning to better understand the needs of the patient community.
