Explore the art of Qigong with 7th-degree black belt and master of Shaolin Kempo, Rick Massar. He will guide us in the practice of coordinated body posture and movement, breathing, and meditation used for the purposes of health, spirituality, and martial arts training.
Linnley joined the Myeloma Crowd in January 2020 to share her passion for health. Her husband is a Childhood Cancer Survivor as well as a Cancer Biologist. Finding a cure, better treatments, and balancing life through treatment is a huge passion of their family. She's a mom of an energetic 6-year old, marathon runner, and Ironman finisher- fitness has been a huge part of her life and she loves to share it with others.
Rick Massar had the good fortune of being introduced to Qigong (which directly translates to “energy work") through his many years of Chinese martial arts training. As a 7th-degree black belt and master of Shaolin Kempo, it was necessary to train and cultivate internal and external energy to achieve true “balance”. He is currently spending his “retirement “ living in Tucson and working as a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer at his local YMCA. They have a regular group of about 25 people in his Qigong class. Rick has been married for 40 years to his beautiful wife, and they have 2 grown sons, 1 dog, and a brand new grandson. At this stage of life, for him, it’s all about giving back! His certifications include 7th-degree black belt/master Shaolin Kempo, Qigong/BaDuaJin instructor, ACE-certified group fitness instructor, and ACE/YMCA personal trainer.
