What's Better Than A Casserole (How to Help Myeloma Caregivers in Realistic Ways)
Event Description
Don't get me wrong, a casserole or pre-made meal can be very helpful in our times of need. But are there better ways to support myeloma caregivers that our loved ones might be unaware of?
Listen to three caregivers share their personal experiences of what can be helpful (and what's not!), and join us as we brainstorm ways that we can share with our family/friends in order to receive the appropriate support that we need.
Schedule & Agenda
Audrey introduces the agenda of the event and our featured speakers Jennifer Carpenter, Barb Mower and David Sears.

Speakers & Moderators
Audrey joined the HealthTree Foundation as the Myeloma Community Program Director in 2020. While not knowing much about myeloma at the start, she has since worked hard to educate herself, empathize and learn from others' experiences. She loves this job. Audrey is passionate about serving others, loves learning, and enjoys a nice mug of hot chocolate no matter the weather.
My name is Barb. I have a corporate finance and fundraising background and am now retired. We’re empty nesters who have moved throughout the country with our two daughters. My husband was diagnosed 8 years ago and is in his second remission.
My name is David. I taught for 18 years as a behavior disorders teacher and then for 16 years as an elementary counselor. I have two beautiful daughters and five even more beautiful grandchildren. For the past ten years, I have been my wonderful, courageous wife’s caregiver.
My name is Jennifer Carpenter and I currently teach video production at a high school in Illinois. In February of 2020 I had the chance to move back in with my parents after my mom's multiple myeloma diagnosis. It's given the opportunity to be more hands on with her care and has been a blessing to be able to be there for them both.
