Join EDI Program Manager for Huntsman, Kathleen Youd, as she shares with us the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion for the Huntsman Cancer Institute, as well as Marsha Calloway-Campbell who will share the African American Myeloma Initiative and Ana Sahagún that will share the efforts that we are making for Spanish-speaking myeloma patients and caregivers.
Audrey joined the HealthTree Foundation as the Myeloma Community Program Director in 2020. While not knowing much about myeloma at the start, she has since worked hard to educate herself, empathize and learn from others' experiences. She loves this job. Audrey is passionate about serving others, loves learning, and enjoys a nice mug of hot chocolate no matter the weather.
Katty has worked with the local community and marginalized populations for over 10 years, addressing health disparities and championing policies and practices centered around equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Now working with Huntsman Cancer Institute, she is eager to forward EDI efforts for and with the HCI community in order create an environment that is equitable and anti-oppressive for patients and staff alike. Katty is an avid learner of languages, proud daughter of Peruvian immigrants, and currently enjoying motherhood with her toddler within the “terrific twos”
Marsha's dedication to bringing awareness and education to our communities is personal. She is a caregiver to her husband who has multiple myeloma and has witnessed the blessing of a supportive village as her family continues to navigate this journey. She's led to give back and to do all that she can to help other families obtain the knowledge that will empower and enlighten them regarding myeloma. Prayerfully, this knowledge will lead to the best possible care which, in turn, will facilitate the best possible outcomes. Although a lawyer and consultant, Marsha finds time to work with the myeloma community all while enjoying time with her husband, 3 adult daughters and young grandson.
Ana is an Engineer and a Psychotherapist, she has experience in both fields and loves them equally. She leads the Patient Experience Team at HealthTree and she’s passionate about talking to patients and empowering them. Whenever she’s not working you’ll find her exploring the world, eating different kinds of food, hiking or skiing.
