Dr. Koulova has an extensive research background in immunology, experimental bone marrow transplant and adaptive immunotherapy. This allows her to apply all novel therapies, and especially immunotherapies for treatment of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. She directs a state-of-the-art outpatient treatment facility with Infusion unit staffed with specialized nursing personnel.
Prior to joining Goshen Medical Associates, Dr. Koulova worked at the Comprehensive Cancer Care Center at OLMMC, in the Bronx, NY.
Dr. Koulova graduated Cum Laude with her MD and PhD (Immunology) from the Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria and the Institute of Hematology & Blood Transfusion in Sofia, Bulgaria. She dedicated a number of years to extensive research in bone marrow transplantation and cancer immunology at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center in NY, NY, and The Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.
Dr. Koulova has published more than 25 papers in leading peer reviewed journals like Journal of Immunology, American Journal of Hematology, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Journal of Immunotherapy and Blood. She is also a co-author of Handbook in Hematology, in press. Dr. Koulova is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
