About

Dr. Goldsmith specializes in the treatment of multiple myeloma, which is also the focus of his prolific research.

“I am passionate about bringing new and innovative treatments to patients with multiple myeloma and other hematologic malignancies through translational research and clinical trials,” he said.

Dr. Goldsmith entered medicine because he remembers how well he was treated when he was a patient in his teen years. “I felt firsthand the profound, lasting impact that healthcare professionals can have on an individual,” he recalled. He credits that experience with informing the way he practices medicine today: “To listen carefully, communicate clearly, and understand who my patients are as people.”

A Florida native, Dr. Goldsmith graduated with honors from the University of Florida – Gainesville, FL, then earned his medical degree at UF’s College of Medicine and continued his training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO.

Dr. Goldsmith takes pride in the relationships he forms with his patients, and he is intent on making an impact “at an individual, institutional, and global level” in finding better treatments for multiple myeloma. He feels City of Hope, with its bench-to-bedside philosophy, is the ideal place to be.

“I feel really fortunate to become a part of this institution and contribute to these missions.”
