Event Description
AML can be a difficult disease to treat. Getting the correct testing done is crucial to creating a treatment plan that is well-suited to tackle your AML. In this webinar hosted by the HealthTree Foundation for AML, Dr. James Dugan will talk about the tests AML patients should receive, what those tests can tell them about their AML, and how those tests can help inform their treatment plan.

Speakers & Moderators
Mary joined HealthTree in 2022. She is now the AML & MDS Community and Education Manager. She is passionate about giving power to patients through knowledge and health education. If she can help one patient feel more confident participating in discussions with their healthcare team and making treatment decisions, she will feel like she has succeeded. When she isn't advocating for patients, she loves being an aunt, attending concerts, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
Dr. Dugan is a hematology/oncology specialist and the physician lead for the transplant and cellular therapy department for Novant Health Cancer Institute. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, as well as the American Society for Transplant and Cellular therapy. His membership in these organizations keep him up to date on the latest research and treatment options in the field. He is also actively engaged in clinical research focused on acute leukemia, with the goal of finding new, targeted therapies that improve disease control and survival while limiting side effects and maintaining a good quality of life through treatment.
