I have always been passionate about medicine and the chance to help and heal others. I love working with children, adolescents, and young adults. As a pediatric hematologist–oncologist, I have the opportunity to build long-term therapeutic relationships with children and their families as I guide them through all the stages and phases of illness and recovery. In addition, I value contributing to the science and research that is rapidly advancing the field, offering tremendous hope with new treatments and improved outcomes.
I see patients from birth through young adulthood who have a variety of benign or noncancerous hematologic conditions, including sickle cell disease, thalassemia, anemias, neutropenia, platelet disorders, and bleeding and clotting disorders. I also manage a wide array of pediatric cancers, including leukemias, lymphomas, brain tumors, and solid tumors, such as neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Wilms tumor, and hepatoblastoma.
