Help HealthTree Foundation Fund Blood Cancer Research: Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation Pledges $1.5 Million Matching Grant

This giving season, any donation to HealthTree Foundation will go even further thanks to a generous matching grant from the Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation.
At HealthTree Foundation, we work to find cures for blood cancers and support blood cancer patients through education, community, and research. We rely on donations to fulfill our important mission. This year, the Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation has generously committed to a $1.5 million matching grant for HealthTree Foundation. The grant will match donations made to HealthTree’s end-of-year appeal, tripling the impact of every gift to advance critical blood cancer research.
“We are deeply grateful to the Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation for their extraordinary generosity and confidence in our mission and research model,” said Jenny Ahlstrom, HealthTree founder and CEO. “Their matching grant gives our community the opportunity to amplify the impact of every dollar raised. Together, we can fuel the discoveries that bring us closer to curing blood cancer once and for all.”
What is the Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation?
The Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation was established by Paula and Rodger Riney following Rodger’s own diagnosis with multiple myeloma. He has become a leading funder of myeloma research across major institutions worldwide, with more than $80 million invested to date. This new partnership underscores the Riney Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting organizations that drive scientific collaboration and innovation.
How does HealthTree Foundation support blood cancer research and people with blood cancer?
HealthTree Foundation has been supporting people with blood cancer for 13 years. Funds raised through this campaign–together with the Riney Foundation’s match–will directly support HealthTree’s groundbreaking research efforts aimed at finding a cure for rare and complex blood cancers. All of HealthTree’s many programs are supported by this match grant, including the HealthTree Cure Hub® platform, which connects patients and researchers to accelerate cures for blood cancer using cutting-edge technology.
Your donation will help us reach our goals!
With your support, we will continue to develop data-driven tools that empower patients and power research. Help us reach our fundraising goals! When our community reaches our $500,000 goal by December 31, the Riney Foundation will match every dollar with $3 to unlock a total of $2 million for lifesaving research and patient progress.
For a limited time, your donation of $1 becomes $4, $50 becomes $200, and $100 becomes $400—all going directly to blood cancer research.
We are deeply grateful to Paula and Rodger Riney for their extraordinary generosity and leadership, and to our community of supporters who make our work possible.
