AML Awareness Day: Resources That Support You Every Step of the Way image

April 21st is AML World Awareness Day. Raising awareness leads to more information being shared, more patients getting connected to the right resources, and continued progress in research toward better treatments and a cure.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an aggressive blood cancer that requires timely, informed care. AML occurs when immature cells in the bone marrow grow out of control and crowd out normal blood cells. This can lead to symptoms like fatigue, infections, and easy bruising or bleeding. Treatment may include intensive chemotherapy or targeted therapies based on a person’s specific disease features.

After an AML diagnosis, access to clear, reliable resources can make a meaningful difference in how you navigate your care.

Keep everything in one place with CureHub

Test results, treatment plans, and appointments can feel overwhelming. With HealthTree, you can connect your medical records with our free, secure portal and see your information all in one place. This makes it easier to prepare for appointments, understand your care, and stay organized throughout treatment.

The information patients share can also help researchers better understand AML, identify patterns, and move closer to more effective treatments. Learn more about how HealthTree helps accelerate research.

Connect with others

Living with AML can feel isolating. HealthTree hosts a social media platform designed specifically for patients and caregivers. It’s a space where you can share your experience, ask questions, and learn from others who are navigating similar challenges.

Stay informed with news and patient stories

New therapies, clinical trials, and treatment approaches for AML are being developed and studied all the time. HealthTree news provides you with the latest updates. These resources are designed to help patients and caregivers feel more confident in conversations with their care team and more informed about their options.

HealthTree also regularly shares patient stories that offer perspective.  Melissa is an AML survivor. She shares her experiences of living with blood cancer including the uncertainty and difficult decisions. Through it all Melissa leaned on the support of her friends and family to navigate her diagnosis and treatment.

Find the right specialist

AML is a complex disease. A specialist who is experienced in treating AML can help guide treatment decisions, identify appropriate clinical trials, and tailor care to your specific situation. HealthTree’s specialist directory makes it easier to find the right provider.

In addition to online resources, HealthTree offers both virtual and in-person events designed for patients and caregivers. These events are a way to learn directly from experts and hear about the latest in treatment and research.
