About

I have always been fascinated with medicine, and I have a strong commitment to providing clinical care and teaching. I chose to specialize in hematology and oncology because of the incredible breadth of the field, which motivated me to learn as much as possible to help people who have cancer.

At NYU Langone, we provide outstanding hematological care. In addition to conventional treatments, we offer novel treatments through our numerous clinical trials in acute leukemias and myelomas. I am blessed to work with talented doctors and nurses at Perlmutter Cancer Center. My team and I care for people with compassion, so that they can lead healthy lives with their loved ones.

I am also heavily involved in translational research, which focuses on translating research into patient care. When I was completing my postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago before joining NYU Langone for my hematology and medical oncology fellowship, I came to realize how essential translational research is to improving care for people who have cancer. It plays a pivotal role in revealing the hidden mechanisms of complex hematological and oncological diseases, allowing us to develop successful treatments.

In addition to participating in research, I conduct clinical trials to provide novel medications for patients. I am also an active faculty member at NYU School of Medicine. For three years in a row, I was recognized as “Teacher of the Year” in the hematology program.
