World Blood Cancer Day: Resources To Support Patients and Caregivers image

May 28th is World Blood Cancer Day. Bringing awareness to blood cancer helps patients and caregivers access treatment and support. The right resources can make a big difference in a person’s day-to-day life and overall outcomes.

DKMS is an international non-profit organization that established World Blood Cancer Day. It was founded by a family impacted by a blood cancer diagnosis. They saw the need to improve access to life-saving treatment for people with blood cancer. DKMS helps connect patients to stem-cell transplant resources and donor registries.

Similarly, HealthTree Foundation was founded by Jenny Ahlstrom after she saw gaps in research speed after her diagnosis with multiple myeloma. Since 2012, HealthTree has been committed to providing education, resources, and research that improve the lives of people affected by blood cancer.

Stay on track when you join HealthTree

Managing test results and health history can quickly become overwhelming as you navigate living with blood cancer. HealthTree has created a platform where you can keep track of all your medical information by connecting your medical records. This free and secure platform can help you better prepare for appointments, understand your care plan, and stay organized throughout treatment.

Sharing medical records can also help researchers better understand blood cancer, identify patterns through symptoms and responses, and move closer to more effective treatments.

Connect Your Records

Connect with people affected by blood cancer

HealthTree also offers support through both virtual and in-person events and opportunities to connect with other people with blood cancer.

HealthTree Connect is a social media platform designed to bring patients and caregivers together. Here, you can share your experience, ask questions, and learn from others facing similar challenges.

We also host a number of webinars where you have the opportunity to hear from experts and ask questions you may have about diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.
