Speakers & Moderators

Matthew Cortese, MD, MPH, is a lymphoma specialist and Assistant Professor of Oncology and Cancer Genetics & Genomics at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Cortese treats all forms of lymphoma but has a primary clinical and research focus in CLL and b-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas. His research focus is to develop a better understanding of the mechanisms of treatment resistance for lymphoma, as well as to investigate the molecular mechanisms by which low-grade lymphomas transform into more aggressive high-grade lymphomas. Dr. Cortese is actively involved in clinical trial design and implementation in ongoing efforts to provide better treatments and hope to patients.

Hannah joined HealthTree Foundation as the Lymphoma Education Manager in 2024. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and is passionate about helping patients feel empowered through education and connection. Before joining HealthTree, Hannah worked in healthcare policy helping patients advocate for better care, research, and funding. Hannah enjoys baking and going to concerts in her free time.
