Finding expertise in amyloidosis can be tricky. Many major myeloma centers do have one or more providers that focus on amyloid. Certainly we have that here. There are some amyloidosis centers which focus exclusively on amyloid. There's one in Boston for example. So I think a patient or a family that's investigating and trying to find the right person to help manage the amyloidosis, there are resources that can help them find them.

But I think calling your local academic myeloma Center and asking if anyone there specifically sees amyloidosis is an excellent first start. Because even if there isn't someone all myeloma groups, they really know their partners. They do focus on amyloidosis and can help make connections for patients and their families as needed.
