Anselamimab shows improved survival in kappa light-chain amyloidosis - CARES study | EHA 2026

New data presented at the European Hematology Association (EHA2026) Congress highlights findings from the Phase 3 CARES clinical trial of anselamimab, an investigational monoclonal antibody designed to target amyloid fibrils. Although the trial did not meet its primary endpoint in the overall AL amyloidosis population, a prespecified subgroup of patients with kappa light-chain (κ AL) amyloidosis experienced improved survival and fewer cardiovascular hospitalizations.

Unlike therapies that target the abnormal plasma cells producing the light chains, anselamimab is designed to target the amyloid deposits themselves, potentially helping remove the fibrils that contribute to organ damage.
