Is one type of t-cell better than another type of t-cell?

Are all types of T cells used to manufacture the CAR T cell product, or do you isolate for a certain kind? So both kind of strategies have been utilized typically for the current commercial CAR T cells for lymphoma specifically. There's not a division on what proportion of memory T cells are in a particular product, but it's a mixed bag of different kind of T cells. And the same is true for myeloma. The IDA cell product that just got FDA approved, it's a mixed of CD4 positive as well as CD8 positive T cells. Is one type of T cell better than another type of T cell? hypothesis is that if you do have a CAR T cell with more of a memory T cell phenotype, then it may actually persist a bit longer. And each time the antigen raises its head, it's recognized and the T cell becomes activated and tries to weed those cells out. There is some data from the Seattle group in their CAR T experience where they have equal proportion of CD4 and CD8 positive T cells in the CAR T product, that there appears to be better long-term responses in their lymphoma patients. I'm not sure whether that's true for myeloma, but that's the thinking behind this.
