Fatigue

Last updated on: 3/25/2025

Because of your low blood counts, the intensity of the chemotherapy, and the many side effects that you will be experiencing, it’s extremely common to experience severe fatigue during and after undergoing the stem cell transplant.

Eat protein-rich foods for energy, move daily, nap when needed. Blood transfusions may be necessary if hemoglobin is low.

Get plenty of rest and make sure to tell your doctor if you are having trouble staying awake or if as a caregiver you have a hard time waking the patient.
