HealthTree Foundation Launches AI-Powered Personalized Clinical Trial Finder

This Multiple Myeloma Awareness Month we are announcing the launch of our AI-powered Personalized Clinical Trial Finder, a groundbreaking tool that's already making a difference in patients' lives.
This new feature, integrated into HealthTree Cure Hub® Registry, uses artificial intelligence to match patients to clinical trials based on their individual medical records, increasing their chances of accessing cutting-edge therapies currently in development.
"This is the first truly personalized clinical trial finder," explains Jenny Ahlstrom, HealthTree Founder and CEO. "Unlike common clinical trial finders that allow patients to search for trials based on filters like zip code or treatment type, we are using tens of thousands of data points to ensure that patients receive personalized trial matches based on their real-world medical data."
The impact of this tool is already evident through patient experiences. Jim Lubinsky, a multiple myeloma patient and HealthTree Coach, who has been navigating clinical trials for eight years, shares his experience: "This new module is the best approach I could ever imagine. So easy. So effective. I never would have found this trial without this new module."
The Clinical Trial Finder addresses a critical challenge in multiple myeloma treatment: the overwhelming and time-consuming process of finding appropriate clinical trials. Trial eligibility criteria are complex, and manually searching through hundreds of open trials is nearly impossible. HealthTree's personalized Clinical Trial Finder streamlines this process by analyzing each patient's unique medical data—including lab values, treatment history, and disease markers—against the eligibility criteria of every available trial. The result is a curated list of trials for which the patient qualifies, helping them and their care teams make informed decisions about participation.
"We are able to power the HealthTree Clinical Trial Finder with clean, validated and organized data thanks to our use of AI," said Juan Pablo Capdevila, HealthTree CTO. "This enables real-time analysis of the data against continuously updated trial databases for instant matching."
"Finding time to manually find appropriate clinical trials for my patients can be very time-consuming. However, with this tool, I can effeciently identify relevant trials within minutes and provide my patients with informed treatment recommendations," said Dr. Zachary Benson, St. Luke's, Boise, Idaho.
