Who Holds the Key to a Myeloma Cure? A Thank You to Our Community.

Happy New Year to each and every HealthTree supporter, and a very special Happy New Year to the patients and caregivers who, like me, do not take a new year for granted. It's a celebrated milestone grounded in determination, tenacity, and an immense sense of gratitude.
I am also thankful for each and every donor who has helped us reach 80% of our goal of $500k. Many of you sacrificed to donate to us; we don't take that lightly. We appreciate your dedication to myeloma research and your willingness to give.
Since we launched 50 days to $500K for myeloma research I have received so many inspiring messages, many thanking me for my dedication to finding myeloma cures.
One in particular stands out that I wanted to share with you:
“Jenny, keep doing all the right things for myeloma. You are our hero, and you did the right thing to ask your donors to donate again. We are happy to help you, helping us. God Bless YOU and your Family for all you do for us out here.” - Bill
As thankful as I am for messages like this, I also want to express my sincere belief that patients hold the key to accelerating myeloma cures through our participation in myeloma research through our patient data portal, HealthTree Cure Hub.
The fastest ways to accelerate cures are:
- Participating in the myeloma surveys and studies and anonymously and easily connecting your medical records in HealthTree Cure Hub
- Financially supporting HealthTree Foundation through your generous donations
These ways work because we support all myeloma researchers for free with patient data. No other organization has the technology capabilities to accelerate cures by amassing a comprehensive set of patient data for researchers.
How Can Participating in HealthTree Cure Hub Help Me and Other Myeloma Patients?
There are many reasons to join HealthTree Cure Hub. We are making it our mission in 2024 to make more patients aware of the amazing benefits and encourage them to join. Myeloma patients' lives depend on it.
Benefits of Connecting Your Electronic Health Records
Connecting your Electronic Health Records (EHR) on HealthTree Cure Hub has never been easier. For most, in a matter of minutes, you can connect your records and see your labs and imaging all in one place. You can also connect your records from multiple facilities.
After connecting your records (which will be stored anonymously), you can:
- Track your myeloma and become aware of your disease trends
- Receive personalized treatment options
- Receive personalized clinical trial recommendations
- Find your "myeloma twin" and see how they have fared with their treatment options
- Discover solutions to your side effects
- Print out a disease summary for more effective second opinions
- and much, much more
Participate in Myeloma Surveys and Studies from Top Myeloma Specialists
Perhaps the most important benefit of HealthTree Cure Hub is the opportunity that it gives you to participate in myeloma research. Your participation in driving myeloma research has the potential to significantly improve lives and put a myeloma cure in your hands.
While the bright minds of myeloma specialists can develop key questions that will lead to a cure, the answers are only found through patient participation.
By accelerating the time it takes to conduct a study and provide accurate results, and by not charging the myeloma specialists to use our platform, we are able to invite all bright minds to submit their work for patients to engage in.
Here are some studies that might interest you that you can get involved in today:
Supplements Survey: Dr. Urvi Shah and her research team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) want to learn about patients’ use of various vitamins and supplements (mainly vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, turmeric/curcumin, and probiotics). This is a 15-minute survey about your supplement use habits, knowledge, and its impact on your health and daily life.
Eye Health Survey: Help us explore the connection between eye health and multiple myeloma. Some patients experience conditions like cataracts or glaucoma, and we want to understand why. This study is led by Dr. Rahul Banerjee (University of Washington) and Dr. Andrew J. Cowan (Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center), and they believe your insights can make a difference. Together, we can pave the way for better eye care for myeloma patients.
If you or the patient in your life has not joined HealthTree Cure Hub yet, please do not wait another day.
Email us at support@healthtree.org to learn why HealthTree Cure Hub will help you manage your myeloma while you also contribute to a myeloma cure.
Expect to hear more about HealthTree Cure Hub and its potential to bring about a myeloma cure (along with your help) throughout the 2024 year. We're developing innovative ways to get as many myeloma patients involved as possible from across the nation and globe- the more involved, the quicker the cure can come.
Support HealthTree Foundation Financially
Because we don't charge researchers to use our platform, we need support from you and your loved ones to keep the research alive and expanding. Please consider making a recurring donation to HealthTree and encourage your loved ones to do the same. Together, we can make a real difference toward myeloma cures for all.
Thank you for your incredible support.
