Cecilia Arana Yi, M.D., is senior associate consultant and director of leukemia services. She received her medical degree at the Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru, and completed residency at the University of Buffalo. She then completed a Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University and a Leukemia fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Arana Yi was the Leukemia Program Director and the Mastocytosis Multidisciplinary Program Leader at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Arana Yi conducts clinical trials in acute and chronic leukemias, and systemic mastocytosis. She is a member of professional organizations including American Society of Hematology, American Association for Cancer Research, Association of Clinical Research Professionals, and is a well-recognized educator and speaker in educational meetings for community oncologists, families and caregivers. Dr. Arana Yi’s clinical and research activities focus on acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and systemic mastocytosis.
