Hospice is a wonderful resource for those nearing the end of their life. However, transitioning to hospice can be scary and overwhelming for patients as well as caretakers. There are a lot of misconceptions about hospice that cause fear. Leesa Hillman joins HealthTree to discuss the myths vs facts of hospice.

Kat is from Lehi, Utah and is the Health Education Manager for lymphoma. She has worked in healthcare for a decade now, and earned her degree in Community Health Education and Promotion. Kat is passionate about disease prevention as well as improving quality of life and health equity. She enjoys reading, hiking, baking, ice skating, gardening, time with her family and friends, and most of all, spoiling her nieces and nephew.

Leesa Hillman

Leesa Hillman is a registered nurse who currently works in hospice care. She has 14 years of experience in hospice where she started as a CNA, then LPN, and eventually RN. She graduated from Weber State with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Currently, she works as a hospice liaison where she spends time explaining the benefits of hospice to patients and their caregivers. Leesa feels so grateful to have found a specialty in medicine where she fills her bucket each day. Leesa loves to share and educate others about the gift of hospice care and how it touches patients' lives. Hospice care is such a tender chapter in life and Leesa is privileged to be a part of it.
