My Loved One Has Passed Away. Where Do I Go From Here?
Event Description
Join us for HealthTree's first Life After Loss group meeting. This group is for anyone who has lost someone to blood cancer. Each of these meetings aim to provide a compassionate space for learning and sharing, as well as offering practical advice and emotional support to those in need. This group will be led by Cheryl Petruk who lost her husband in 2018 to myelofibrosis that transformed to AML.
November's meeting will focus on how to transition to a "new normal". Cheryl will share her story, discuss how her life has changed since the passing of her husband, and then we will open the group up for attendees to share their stories and get to know one another.
Future meetings will focus on topics such as understanding the grieving process, exploring the stages of grief in the context of blood cancer, navigating emotions, coping strategies for bereavement, self-care strategies, memorializing and honoring your loved one, financial considerations, and how to maintain a psychological and emotional connection with your loved one.
A private recording of this meeting will be shared with all registrants. This recording will not be made public to honor the privacy of those in the group.
