I am a hematologist-oncologist who specializes in the study and treatment of lymphoma. My work focuses on the development of novel therapies for patients with B cell lymphoma, including indolent lymphomas (follicular, marginal zone, small lymphocytic), Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, as well as aggressive lymphoma, such as diffuse large-B cell lymphoma.
My research interest is in tumor immunology. I am involved in the development of novel therapies that exploit the immune system as a way to treat cancer. I am the head of hematological malignancies for the Cellular Therapeutics Center, which has played a fundamental role in the development and implementation of CAR T cell therapy. I am also interested in developing targeted therapies for lymphoma and in understanding the mechanisms by which these therapies work.
I am a member of the Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia Clinical Trial Group.
