I am a hematologist who specializes in the treatment of plasma cell dyscrasias, including multiple myeloma, amyloidosis and Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia. I received my Doctorate of Medicine from Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania and completed my fellowship in hematology and oncology at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, where I was also chief fellow. As a hematologist in an academic setting, I get the unique opportunity to study each cancer type in depth and lead clinical trials to develop better treatments and deliver the best care to my patients. I believe in treating each patient as if they were a member of my own family. I spend a lot of time getting to know their background, learning their goals and preferences, and educating patients and their families about the disease processes, treatment options and expected outcomes. I assist them in making informed decisions and believe that compliance with treatment and outcomes are better when patients become an integral part of the team. I am blessed to be able to treat and support my patients during the toughest period of their lives and aid them in their healing process.
