Dr. Nguyen received her MD from Louisiana State university Health Sciences Center New Orleans, School of Medicine. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where she served as Chief Medical Resident. She most recently completed a Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at the University of Miami, Jackson Health System, where she served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Nguyen’s clinical area of interest focuses on plasma cell dyscrasias, including multiple myeloma as well as precursor diseases such as monoclonal gammopathies of undetermined significance (MGUS) and smoldering myeloma. Additionally, she has interest in related disease entities such as amyloidosis. Her research primarily focuses on novel drug combination in a certain cytogenetic subset of patients with myeloma, particularly patients who possess translocation t(11;14), and investigating the synergy and molecular mechanisms underlying the efficacy of a particular drug combination.
