Understanding Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) can be complicated! AML can be inside or outside of the bone marrow, and it can express itself in different ways in different parts of the body. How do you know your type of AML, how to manage it or even what questions to ask your doctor? Thankfully, our AML expert faculty are here to help break down all these topics to be simple enough for everyone to understand. Having this knowledge makes you an empowered patient and allows you to be an active participant in your care.

What is HealthTree University for AML?

HealthTree University for AML is the world’s only online curriculum designed to help you understand all the ins and outs of AML, and is taught by the top AML experts in the world. We film the experts answering all of your basic (and not so basic) questions about AML. Today we are excited to be able to release the very first lesson, AML Basics Part 1 and will be releasing more lessons over the coming months that include: AML Basics Part 2 and Part 3, Understanding AML Treatment, AML Genetics, Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant, An Introduction to Childhood AML, Becoming an Empowered Patient and Building Your Healthcare Team. HealthTree for AML is a living, evolving curriculum that will be continually updated as we ask AML experts the questions that matter the most to you.

Why was HealthTree for AML Created?

Patients who understand their disease cope so much better with the process and have better outcomes. Educated patients are able to spot treatment-related side effects before they become severe or permanent. They have a much better understanding of their treatment options and alternatives. They are better able to foster a partnership between themselves and their healthcare provider. A well-informed patient is in a position to collaborate with their doctor to optimize their outcomes with AML.

We have created HealthTree University to enable you to become an engaged partner in your care. An educated and empowered patient has better outcomes! HealthTree University for AML makes it as easy as possible to become educated and empowered by housing the curriculum in one, easy-to-access place so you can find answers quickly.
