Should an individual diagnosed with MGUS see a specialist?

Should a patient with MGUS see a myeloma specialist?

I think in general, I would like to see at least one time a doctor who knows multiple myeloma, especially MGUS. It's such a rare disease and if your doctor sees breast and lung and other cancers, they will look at MGUS and say, you don't have anything, you know, you're fine. Go see your primary care doctor. Well, we care. I care to see MGUS. I want to see that patient, and I want to make sure I follow that patient carefully so that we don't miss myeloma. So I would say see someone who cares to know that they don't miss myeloma. I think at least once, I think it's very important that they get a good evaluation of somebody who understands monoclonal gammopathy because you don't want to miss rare diseases, such as amyloidosis. And it can help guide the oncologists how often to test them and what to do to test them. So I do agree that, a specialist at least once is very important.
