Patient Top Concerns At and Since Diagnosis | Nathan Sweeney, PhD | ASH 2022

Hi, my name is Nathan Sweeney and we have a second abstract here at ASH. This abstract we did in collaboration with a patient and we wanted to know what the top concerns were at diagnosis and since their diagnosis. And we looked at the difference between standard risk patients and high risk patients. The interesting thing that we found was that there was no difference between questions that patients had at diagnosis, regardless of their risk. We did find that there was a little bit of difference of questions that patients have later on in their diagnoses. Since diagnosis, standard risk and high risk had different questions. High risk patients wanted to know what clinical trials were available for them. Standard risk patients wanted to know how to prevent further spread of their disease and they were also more interested to know if their doctor had a sufficient experience to meet their needs. So these findings are important because this provides information for us to help narrow down what information to provide patients when they're diagnosed and then later on in their diagnosis.
