Is there any data on obesity and myeloma? What does it show?

So obesity and myeloma, like I said before, there are many papers that have actually shown a risk association and in different settings. So with MGUS, obesity is associated with an increased risk of MGUS about 1.8 times in one study in obese women, obesity is also associated with an increased risk of progression of MGUS to myeloma about two times more likely if somebody is overweight or obese than if somebody has a normal weight.

And then other studies have looked at pre diagnosis weight and is there an increased risk of developing myeloma? And there is a slight increase risk as well, about 1.3 to 1.5 times depending on the BMI.

Other studies have looked at mortality or like the risk of death related to obesity and pre diagnosis BMI elevation is associated with an increased risk of death from myeloma.

I think these are the main studies that have shown this association. But there is a wealth of knowledge on it.
