What are common side effects associated with immunotherapy? So the principle of the immunotherapy is that an immune response is killing the multiple myeloma cell. And an immune response can be associated with an overactivation of your own immune system. So for instance, lenalidomide or pomalidomide activate the T cells. The T cells help to kill the myeloma cell, but you can also have some autoimmune side effects, the rash or the diarrhea. That's something that is caused by the T cells that are overactivated. So that's number one. Number two, you see from the blend wrap for instance, from the drug-conjugated antibody or from the cut T cells, an activation of the immune system, the cytokines can be associated with a fever. So the side effects are completely different from what we see with the chemotherapy. The principle in chemotherapy is that it kills the tumor cell, unselective. The problem is that the myeloma cell might go away, but also at the same time you might kill neutrophils, the white blood cells that help you to fight infections, or the platelets that might help you to kind of form, I would say, a coagulation cascade that stops bleeding. So the principle is that in immunotherapy it can be very often much more targeted because we can target the myeloma cell. It has unspecific side effects like activation of the immune system. This regular chemotherapy, we target, I would say, all cells that are fast proliferating such as the tumor cell, myeloma cells, but also other cells that grow very fast, white blood cells, platelets, but also for instance your hair or even your nails. And many patients know when they get a stem cell transplant that they have changes in their nails. That is a time you can see really the day you receive the chemotherapy you, I would say, damage the proliferating cells or the growing cells of your nails and you can see the side effect.
