How can nausea related to kidney failure be managed? So there's a number of ways. One of them may be that the dialysis is not as effective, not as effective as clearing out some of those toxins. So it's always worthwhile to speak with a nephrologist about adjusting the dialysis procedure. But if that continues, there are medicines we can give for nausea just like we give for chemotherapy drugs like Zofran and Compazine and Ativan to try to minimize those side effects.
