Is under-treating fit geriatric patients a concern?

Is there a concern for under treating geriatric patients with multiple myeloma? That is definitely a concern in myeloma under treatment. We really worry about that because unfortunately, despite many of these frillty scores existing, as I mentioned before, there's still no set standard definition of frillty. In many instances, people still fail to use frillty scores in their routine clinical practice. And so what that leads to is this eyeball test of patients as they come into the office where patients are seen and they may be older and you may not have a good picture as to what is happening, but instantly there's this thinking that we cannot offer that patient treatment because that patient just seems too old and in quotations, frail. And so in that case, there is a real risk of missing patients who could potentially benefit from myeloma treatments and then for them not to be classified accordingly based on their fitness, then that leads to them being potentially under treated, especially.
