Should myeloma patients avoid sugar?


That's a really hard question. And it's not that sugar is feeding your cancer directly, but should we avoid sugar? We should, because it is not in general good for any condition.


And the less refined sugar you can have in your diet, the better.


So what is refined sugar? It's that white sugar that you put in your coffee, Dunkin Donuts that taste so good,


A good analogy is when you think about like what sugar cane looks like, it's this dense, fibrous plant. Mother Nature didn't intend us to be able to spoon it out. And so trying to limit that is one of the recommendations is limiting refined sugar
