When to Get a Second Opinion?

Getting another expert’s perspective can offer peace of mind and ensure you’re making the most informed decision for your unique situation.
In some cases, advanced treatments like CAR-T may not be available at all centers and can have complex eligibility criteria. A second opinion can help confirm that CAR-T is the right next step, or it may introduce you to additional treatment options or clinical trials you hadn’t considered.
It is normal to ask for a second opinion. You can even request a referral from your current hematologist/oncologist or reach out directly to a myeloma specialist or cancer center with experience in CAR T-cell therapy.
