Audrey joined the HealthTree Foundation as the Myeloma Community Program Director in 2020. While not knowing much about myeloma at the start, she has since worked hard to educate herself, empathize and learn from others' experiences. She loves this job. Audrey is passionate about serving others, loves learning, and enjoys a nice mug of hot chocolate no matter the weather.

Robin Ortiz, MD, MSHP is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Population Health and a faculty member in the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity at New York University Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Ortiz received training at the National Institutes of Health during medical school at Loyola University in Chicago. She went on to complete residency training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a fellowship in health policy research in the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and is now board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics caring for both adults and children. Dr. Ortiz studies the foundations for health across the lifecourse and between caregivers and their children, particularly related to the attainment of intergenerational health equity. She has extensively studied the relationship between stress physiology and cardiometabolic health. Dr. Ortiz is an active member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine as well as the Early Career Committee of the Council on Epidemiology and Prevention in the American Heart Association. She was a scientific advisor on the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Aware Initiative with Auerra Health Group and The Office of the Surgeon General of California, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, and is a recent recipient of a 2023 joint American Heart Association – Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Award. Importantly, while Dr. Ortiz’ work has often overlapped with the field of oncology, she has personal experience as a caretaker and support for her mother, who is also her best friend and inspiration, who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2020.
