Our January Myeloma Fitness Challenge Starts Tomorrow!

Welcome to the HealthTree New Year’s Resolution Fitness and Learning Challenge!
As we step into the new year, it’s a time of renewed hope and commitment to our health and well-being. This challenge is designed to inspire and support you in embracing a more active and informed lifestyle.
My Goals For You
- Encourage Daily Movement: We (Healthtree and Throwing Bones) want to motivate everyone to engage in at least 20 minutes of physical activity each day. This can be anything from walking to yoga, tailored to your comfort and capability.
- Promote Learning and Awareness: Alongside physical fitness, we want to foster an environment of learning. Understanding the impact of physical activity on your health, especially during cancer treatment, is vital.
- Build a Supportive Community: You’re not alone in this journey. This challenge is also about building connections, sharing experiences, and supporting each other.
Start each day with planning on “putting your shoes on.” Once you’ve accomplished that, success is yours before stepping outside your comfort zone.
Start Slow and Build Up
- Week 1 - Ease In: Start with what feels manageable. Gentle exercises and short durations are perfect. It’s not about how much you do but that you do something. To hit your 20 minutes of activity, break up your activity throughout the day!
- Week 2 - Establish a Routine: Begin to find your rhythm. Try adding a few minutes more or including a new type of activity you enjoy.
- Week 3 - Explore and Enjoy: Experiment with different exercises. See what brings you joy and invigorates you. It’s a great time to try something new or add a playful element to your routine.
- Week 4 - Integrate Wellness: Focus on holistic health. Maybe blend in mindfulness practices or learn more about nutrition alongside your physical activities.
- Week 5 and Beyond - Sustain and Grow: Reflect on your progress, set new goals, and continue building on the foundation you’ve laid this month.
Remember, this challenge is about personal growth and doing what’s best for your body. Listen to yourself, make adjustments as needed, and most importantly, celebrate every step you take forward. We are here to cheer you on every day, every step of the way.

Everyone is encouraged to join and move for at least 20 minutes per day. You can track your daily minutes manually or by synching your Apple Watch, Garmin, or Fitbit to the HealthTree Moves app. All you have to do is download the FREE HealthTree Moves app, available on both Android and Apple and join our upcoming New Year’s Resolution Fitness and Learning Challenge.
If you already have the app, please be sure you are on the latest version by clicking on the three lines at the top left-hand side of your screen. The latest version is 1.675. To update the app you can go to the app store, find the HealthTree Moves app, and click update.

To manually enter your minutes click on the box at the top of your screen, click on Minutes Active, then click Save Changes. Results can be changed up to seven days.
