Hi everyone, my name is Alessandro Lucchese. I'm a clinical researcher. I work in a cancer center located in the north center of Italy in the Romagna area. I welcome you in Milan at the EHA Association. There is a congress ongoing. During this congress we discuss about the news on myelofibrosis and on clinical trials. I presented a poster on the use of selenexor, a new compound for myelofibrosis patients. Selenexor is compared in a phase two trial with physician choice, showing better splen volume reductions levels and showing the dampening of inflammation and cytokines, showing also a better control of cytopenias and anemia. I think these results are very promising and there is a phase three trial ongoing, combining raxolet and selenexor. We hope the enrollment for this trial will be soon concluded and to have results for the next congresses in America and in Europe. I think that participating in clinical trial is fundamental for myelofibrosis patients because you can access a clinical trial from the very beginning of your disease history. This opens new opportunities because we know that probably a combination treatment would offer some opportunity to those patients who are resistant or refractory to the conventional JAK inhibitors, but also can show during time some disease modification. Disease modification is very important in myelofibrosis because it can probably change the natural course of the disease, having to deal with bone marrow fibrosis, anemia, blast count. Those are elements that are very important for prognosis, so I encourage the participation to a randomized clinical trial and I hope that myelofibrosis patients ask for their physician to access those centers who have the availability for clinical trials.
