Low IgG: Is IVIG Needed Without Infections?
AI-generated title
My Immunoglobulin G has been below 400 for the 3 years I've been on treatment. I have not had many infections. I've read that some think that if the Immunoglobulin G is below 400 you should get an IVG infusion. My thoughts are if I'm not getting infections why would I submit to another level of treatment. Any thoughts?

Struggling with Late-Stage Care & Costs
AI-generated title
REally consider getting long term care insurance. Wish we had as now up a creek. Didn't realize assisted living places require u to bring your own furniture. I've stopped treatment as got very sick after sarclisa/kyprolis 2 weeks ago. Was handling it ok till they gave both in same day. I've been fighting this disease for 10 yrs and am tired, cant' drive now, very weak. My beloved has also become ill due to all the stress, neither of us able to drive and no one to help. Bad situation...Some times this disease causes one to linger and that gets very expensive and stressful. We just keep trying our best. Caregiver agencies require 4 hour minumum to come to the home and who wants a stranger sitting in their home that long esp with risk of covid, etc. Atleast insurance covers inhome nursing but doesnt' reallly help with caregiving or food, etc.

Sexual Health After Transplant: Anyone Else?
AI-generated title
Sexual health has been a big issue for me after autologous stem cell transplant. I have weak erections and ejaculation doesn't feel as intense and exciting anymore. I'm now 60 days past transplant. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and did it improve with time...what did you do to help treat it? Thank you for your feedback 🙏

Understanding Confusing Clonoseq Results
AI-generated title
Has anyone received a Clonoseq report that has <1 under "ESTIMATED SEQUENCE ABUNDANCE (RESIDUAL CLONAL CELLS PER MILLION NUCLEATED CELLS)"? Does your dotor say that you are MRD negative? Apparently <1 is NOT the same as "not detected." My report headline said "Residual Sequence Detected" due to this <1 finding. Im wondering if there are Clonoseq report that say NO RESIDUAL SEQUENCE DETECTED or MRD NEGATIVE as a headline? I ask this because the report says "residual sequence detected" and " 1 of the 3 dominant sequences identified in a diagnostic sample from this patient was still present in this current sample" yet my doctor is telling me that I am MRD negative? Does anyone understand this? All comments/thoughts pertaining to Clonoseq appreciated. Thank you.

A Friendly Reminder After My Bout With Pneumonia
AI-generated title
Greetings to All, I wanted to leave a link to a WSJ article that caught my attention because I was diagnosed with "walking pneumonia": https://www.wsj.com/health/wellness/walking-pneumonia-symptoms-8346732b?st=KWPPft&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink Since last week, I have had walking pneumonia and have been 7 days with antibiotics and cough medication. Yesterday, I visited the doctor, who said that I was getting better; the pneumonia was gone, but I had an upper respiratory infection (URI). Counting my blessings, I am good despite it. Lesson learned: We cannot be overconfident about not getting any bugs. We must be careful. Enjoy the Fall and upcoming Winter seasons. Get your flu shots, and be alert.

Discussing Our Suspected Myeloma Causes
AI-generated title
Hello, I understand it is not clear what causes multiple Myeloma, but I'm curious to hear what you think/suspect may have caused your disease? I'm trying to generate a conversation on this topic to see if we have commonalities in our responses that can help us possibly zero in on one or two suspected common causes. For me, I was diagnosed in September 2023 at 37 years old. I was active duty in the Army and am still in the military pending medical board and potential medical separation from military service. Deep down, I suspect my Myeloma may have been caused by one of three things: 1) Environmental exposure in the military (living and working in old military buildings with possible exposure to led/asbestos , as well as traveling to Afghanistan where there was a lot of smoke in the air from unknown burning materials). 2). Stress. During the time that I started experiencing my first symptoms, I was very stressed. I had a very stressful and high visibility job in the military, and on top of this I was enrolled in an expedited full-time military school. So basically, I would go to work, come home and get on the computer to do school work at night. On top of that, my wife and I had two little kids, 3 and 1 year old. As a result of this tremendous stress, I was getting very little sleepy at night. 3. Drinking wine every day. During this highly stressful moment, I took to drinking red wine every night (two to three glasses) to help me relax/destress and sleep at night. These are the three things that I suspect may have caused my disease. I look forward to hearing your story and what you feel may have caused your disease. Thanks.

Experiencing Pain & Numbness Post-ASCT?
AI-generated title
Hello, since undergoing an autologous stem cell transplant in September 2024, I have been experiencing pain in my left middle finger (the pain is coming from the joint at the base of my middle finger). Also, I have been experiencing numbness and tingling in the outer part of my right thigh when I lay on my back or sometimes sit in a reclining position. Has anyone experienced any of these symptoms after an autologous stem cell transplant? If so, did you take steps to find out what was causing them, and how did you treat them, and was the treatment successful? Thank you.

Navigating Fear and Helplessness As a Fiancée
AI-generated title
My fiancé is 41, diagnosed with multiple myeloma 70% August 2nd and his numbers are getting higher. I’m really just so confused because he has no symptoms and feels great. I’m just having a really hard time. I don’t know where to put my focus and I feel that I’ve just been distracting myself. I feel like I am wasting time. When he was diagnosed the dr told him with no treatment he would have about 4-6 months left to live. Our wedding is in about 6 months and I can’t focus on any planning because I feel like I need to be doing something more important to help him live. I’m just stuck in this state of fear and feel so helpless. I feel like I’m in a terrible nightmare and can’t wake up. He also wants to cure this as naturally as possible but is considering trying one round of treatment. Any suggestions or helpful words or wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Managing Anxiety on Watch and Wait
AI-generated title
Hi I was diagnosed with high risk IgA Lambda MGUs two and half years ago after a bone marrow biopsy. I have been on 3 monthly testing ever since and I find myself anxious each time the testing comes round. I was told I could expect a 2 year progression, I assume because of abnormal FLC ratio. I am in UK and it is hard to get information from anyone as to what they expect to happen. GP’s ignore you and haematology nurses are too busy and forget to even keep up with appointments. Glad to join a group just to feel less like your on your own!
