Hi, I have been smouldering for the past two years. My Doctor is sending me for a second opinion on whether or not I should get a stem cell transplant. I will be 74 next month and apparently it cannot be done once I reach 75. My most recent BMB showed that I am 15 to 20% kappa restricted plasma cells with aberrant CD56 expression. The findings are consistent with persistent Plasma Cell Myeloma. My question is can a stem cell transplant stop the progression of myeloma?
