I am a medical oncologist devoted to caring for people with hematologic cancers, including lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. While I have broad experience in all subtypes of lymphoma, I have a particular expertise in treating diffuse large B-cell, follicular, and other B-cell lymphoma.
After 35 years of practice, I continue to be impressed by patients as they courageously fight these diseases. I value the exchanges I have with my patients and their families and take the time to answer their questions and explain the latest advances available to help manage their illness. These include immunotherapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
As a member of MSK’s Lymphoma Service Disease Management Team, I work closely with colleagues in other disciplines to formulate the best possible treatment plan that meets the specific needs of each patient.
I see patients in Manhattan at MSK Koch, which offers nearly every aspect of outpatient cancer care across many specialties, so most patients can get all their treatments in one place. The state-of-the-art facility was designed to help restore patients’ health and well-being.
My passion for hematology oncology emerged during my residency. I was drawn to the dual challenge of bringing faster scientific progress to people suffering from cancer and providing medical care for those patients over the entire course of their disease. As my career became deeply focused on lymphoma, I have been fortunate to see major improvements in diagnosis and treatment achieved over the last three decades.
It has been gratifying to be personally involved in some of these advances. For example, in recent years, I contributed to the development of immunotherapies (such as monoclonal antibodies and CAR T cell therapy) for people with B cell lymphoma.
I continue to be dedicated to various aspects of clinical research, including large studies that aim to establish the best standards of care and trials that are evaluating the safety and effectiveness of new treatments that may ultimately lead to new drug approvals. When our research staff determines that a patient is eligible to enroll in one of our clinical studies, we offer that individual the opportunity to participate as part of their care plan.
I moved to New York from Lyon, France with my wife in 2020 to join MSK as Chief of the Lymphoma Service. She and I enjoy listening to live music in our spare time and we are excited about getting into the jazz music scene in the city. It’s such a pleasure when we come across talented musicians during our walks through Central Park.
