Join us for the Portland Myeloma Roundtable on November 7th to hear directly from leading myeloma experts about the latest in treatment and research. Designed specifically for patients and caregivers, the event includes patient-friendly presentations, breakout sessions for newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory patients, and a dedicated faculty Q&A with plenty of time to ask questions.

Rebecca Silbermann, MD, MMS

“A cancer diagnosis is often complicated, frightening, and confusing. I try to help my patients understand their disease and their treatment choices so that we can work towards the best possible outcomes together.” Dr. Silbermann is a physician-scientist with expertise in multiple myeloma and other plasma cell disorders. She has a particular interest in myeloma bone disease and a research program focused on maintaining and improving bone health in myeloma patients. Dr. Silbermann has two children and spends her free time exploring the Portland area with her family.

Eva Medvedova, MD

Eva Medvedova, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She specializes in the care of adults with plasma cell disorders, including multiple myeloma, AL amyloidosis, and monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS). She completed her internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology.

Richa Thakur, MD

is a hematology-oncology physician at Fred Hutch Cancer Center and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Her clinical practice focuses on plasma cell disorders, including multiple myeloma and amyloidosis, as well as quality of life. She has specialized training in both hematology/medical oncology and hospice and palliative care, bringing a patient-centered approach to treatment and symptom management.

Andy Chen, MD, PhD

is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He specializes in lymphoma and related hematologic malignancies, with a clinical focus that includes bone marrow transplantation. His research explores new treatments for lymphoma, with a particular interest in CAR-T cell therapy. Dr. Chen completed his residency and fellowship training at Stanford University and is board certified in hematology and medical oncology.

Jacqueline Trussell, AGACNP-BC, FNP-BC

is a Senior Outpatient Advanced Practice Provider and Instructor in the Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. She provides care for patients before and after autologous stem cell transplant and cellular therapy, including long-term follow-up. Her clinical expertise includes the recognition and management of transplant- and cell therapy-related toxicities, including cytokine release syndrome (CRS), ICANS, and prolonged cytopenias. She also serves as a sub-investigator on cellular therapy clinical trials and has practiced as an inpatient and outpatient APP at OHSU since 2013.
