Hi, I'm Vijaya Bhatt, a professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. We conducted an early-phase clinical trial using a new drug called dordaviprone. It is an oral, once-a-week pill used in patients with acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome who have undergone a stem cell transplant.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety of this new medicine in post-transplant patients. We enrolled 20 patients treated with various doses and were able to reach the highest planned dose. The study showed that dordaviprone is safe after stem cell transplant, well-tolerated, and does not cause significant complications or toxicities.
In terms of outcomes, seven out of ten patients, or 70%, remained cancer-free at around two years after transplant.
In conclusion, this trial demonstrated that dordaviprone is safe after transplant and may help reduce the risk of relapse.
