What is the care like when participating in clinical trials?

What is the care like when participating in a clinical trial? In addition to your regular physician and your nurse and nurse practitioner who's seeing you, there's a whole other layer of people who are watching over this. There are data coordinators and research nurses, and they're all available to answer questions. Sometimes it does require more trips to the doctor's office, more tests. But on the other hand, you're being watched extremely closely, and perhaps the tradeoff is worth it.
