What percent of AML cases are found in men versus women? AML is a bit more common in men compared to females. It's not dramatically different, but the incidence in men is slightly higher than women. It's more to do with the fact that, for whatever reason that we don't understand, men have a higher chance of having a pre-malignant mutation. We think leukemia as something that happens suddenly, that there is no evidence of anything like a month ago and suddenly leukemia happens. But in reality, some of these pre-malignant mutations can be found a decade before the onset of leukemia. And that condition is more common in men. And it's not clear why, actually, that is true. And because that is more common in men, we also see it reflected that men have a higher chance of myeloid cancers compared to women.
